[The captain of the Jackdaw cuts a fine and fearsome figure in a red coat and a tricorner hat with black feathers jutting out from the back. He puts on quite a show for the weekend tour group, but he catches sight of one of them who stands out over the crowd. Doesn't call Jing Yuan out, though.

It's as the rest of the group is coming off the ship that he calls to him:]

Oi, mate! You dropped something. Might want to come take it before I decide to add it to my spoils. [The words are more for the benefit of the group now departing, because underneath them: hey, I've seen you on the app, want to talk?]

[So, Wei Wuxian has gone NO WHERE near House 1 because dog yelling but interestingly he did see Jing Yuan carrying someone he recognized as a resident of it across the island.

Yuan'er~! [That tone spells trouble, do not respond Jing Yuan. Even if you don't there is no escape.] Who were you carrying just now?

Did you add me to that chat so I could witness someone's murder?

[After talking to Blade, Dan Heng has had to brainstorm with their favorite husky on a plan for how to talk to Jing Yuan plainly about their feelings. After some consideration, he decides to take the first step himself. With luck or maybe stubbornness, he might be able to get through to Jing Yuan without going for the last resort plan.

Taking a deep breath and ignoring the butterflies in his stomach, he calls Jing Yuan instead of texting him.]

Yuan, I'm about to take over lunch to A-Xing, but I'd like your help with something first. I've made enough for three if you'd like to join us, too.

[Someone got a bomb dropped and there's only one person who could be at fault.]

it is a difficult task to both find the required photos and post them with dan heng straddling his hips, lips ghosting over his throat like that. it is an even more difficult task to respond the few times that he does as they all but summon blade back to them with the simple threat of missing out─ but he manages it well enough.

truly he should be praised for the blurry but passable photo they manage to send to blade before jing yuan puts aside the phone in favor of the man on top of him. ]

Mmm, I think we have effectively spurred him on. [ if the last message was anything to go by. ] But whatever shall we do until he gets here?

[She may or may not have sent messages to Blade, Dan Heng and Jing Yuan in a row before any of them could respond, so it's only another moment or two before his message arrives. Faye is, of course, still outside and there's plenty of distant maybe-maybe-not-fireworks going off... and she's still worried and speaking perhaps a little faster than she means to.]

I really-- really hope you three are together and okay I -- please, you're all okay right..? There's more than just fireworks and more than just a little bit--

[She cuts herself off.]

N...no sorry I just-- hope you're all okay.

General, you had better be awake! I called Kafka and Blade and Dan Heng already, so I know you’re all okay, but if anything changes, call me!

[In one of Jing Yuan's favorite napping spots sits a few gifts for him. They're neatly wrapped in green paper. If it's not obvious by the color who it's from, then the familiar, equally neat handwriting on the letter on top of the gifts indicates they're from Dan Heng. The letter reads:]

My Dear A-Yuan,

I've missed many of your birthdays, and since fate has been kind enough to reunite us like this, I thought I would make up for those lost days. It was no trouble for me at all. I simply wanted to do this for you, so that you know how much I treasure you and the time you've given me.

Truthfully, I still don't know how I got lucky enough to have you in my life as a partner, but I know I'm going to cherish it. It's in a dragon's nature to be possessive and protective of his treasures. So, now that I have you, I hope you understand that I'm never going to give you up so easily.

However, while you and A-Xing seem to like that side of me, please let me know if it's too much. I don't want that side of me to get carried away, so I hope you feel safe enough to tell me that I need to calm down.

[Dan Heng walks into their room to see Jing Yuan on his phone. He pauses for a moment before getting onto the bed with him. Then... he transforms into a small, black Havana rabbit. Dan Heng hops up onto Jing Yuan's lap like he owns it as prime real estate.]

Getting bored of sleeping all day, A-Yuan? Here I would think that would be your dream.

[ sometime between the hours of 1am and 3am, A small blue and red squirrel somehow finds itself in your home.

It's in as quickly as it's out, and behind it leaves a pile of about 92 different coloured rubber ducks, as well as a small two-pack of beautiful looking japanese sweets. They look like art, really. When eating them, they're flavoured Matcha and Dirt. Some flavours are just better than others. Underneath the gifts is a note in big, loopy handwriting. ]
